The effects of a carbohydrates source on glycemic level is provided by the Glycemic Index. Foods with a low Glycemic Index are better assimilated, as their absorption time is modulated, hence there is a reduction of physical stress and consequent efficiency raise.
A high Glycemic Index, linked to cereals rich in starch highly digestible, predisposes to pathologies such as obesity and diabetes, both in human and animal.
This is why, after detailed researches, we created N&D "Grain Free", completely without any cereal, and N&D "Low Ancestral Grain", with few ancestral cereals (spelt and oats) which have a lower glycemic index than other cereals commonly used. Their low glycemic index allows a moderate postprandial glycemic response which is also modulated over time. This kind of cereals have a higher dietetic fiber content which helps digestion and nutrient absorption boosting organism's defences.
Using complex cereals such as corn, furthermore, could expose more on GMO contamination risk, which is something against Natural & Delicious nutritional philosophy.
